In a century-old Spanish coal mine near the town of Ariño, palaeontologists have unveiled a remarkable discovery—two incredibly well-preserved dinosaurs belonging to a new ѕрeсіeѕ of tапk-like dinosaur.
Estimated to have lived between 113 million and 110 million years ago during the Cretaceous period, this new dinosaur, named Europelta carbonensis, is now recognized as the oldest nodosaurid discovered in Europe.
The nodosaurid family, to which Europelta belongs, existed from the Late Jurassic to the Late Cretaceous Period and spanned regions like North America, Asia, Antarctica, and Europe.
